Joanna and Nick's love for hair began when they trained at a local salon in Northampton.
Although Nick left the hairdressing industry to pursue his trading career, Joanna continued to nurture her passion....

Joanna
Salon Owner/Director
Joanna is the proud owner and director of The Beauty Works and has over 20 years of experience within the hair industry. With a true passion for hairdressing, Joanna has built the salon around her commitment to exceptional standards, creativity and outstanding client care.
Specialising in colouring, Joanna holds a prestigious Masters in Colour qualification and is known for creating beautiful, tailored colour results that enhance each client’s individual style. Her attention to detail and artistic eye allow her to deliver everything from soft natural tones to bold, transformative colour work.
Above all, Joanna is dedicated to providing every client with a warm, welcoming salon experience and the highest level of customer care. Her passion for the industry continues to drive the growth of The Beauty Works and the development of the talented team around her.
Jayne
Colour Director Expert
Jayne is our Master Colour Expert with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Colour is truly her passion, and she loves nothing more than a creative challenge — whether it’s a complete transformation or perfecting a bespoke shade.
As well as working her magic behind the chair, Jayne teaches colour to our apprentices, sharing her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of stylists. She is passionate about developing new talent and takes great pride in watching them grow and succeed. Jayne looks forward to welcoming you into her chair.
Charlotte
Creative Designer/Colour Director
Charlotte is our Creative Designer and Creative Colourist, bringing passion, precision, and personality to every appointment. She specialises in cutting short hair, creating sharp, stylish looks that are tailored to suit each client perfectly.
Balayage is another of Charlotte’s signature services, blending tones seamlessly to achieve soft, dimensional colour that enhances natural beauty. Her biggest priority is making sure every client leaves feeling happy, confident, and completely in love with the hair she has created.
Millie
Senior Designer/Creative Colourist/Brow Technician/Nail Technician
Millie is our Senior Stylist and Creative Colourist, known for her eye for detail and passion for all things hair and beauty. With a talent for transforming hair through bespoke colour and precision styling, she loves creating looks that feel modern, wearable, and completely tailored to each client.
Beyond hair, Millie also works her magic on beautiful nails and perfectly shaped brows, making her a true all-rounder in the salon. Whether you’re after a bold new colour, a flawless finish, or those extra beauty touches, Millie will have you looking and feeling your absolute best.
Tiff
New Talent
Tiff is a talented stylist whose creativity truly shines through in her work. She loves using her artistic flair to create the perfect style for each of her clients, ensuring every look feels personal and beautifully finished.
She has a real passion for creative colour, enjoying the process of blending tones and crafting shades that complement each individual. With growing confidence and skill, Tiff continues to impress with her eye for detail and dedication to making every client feel their best.
Sasha
New Talent
Since starting hairdressing in 2021, Sasha has developed a real love for cuts and blowdries. Sasah is all about listening to her clients and making sure they are 100% happy with their hair before they leave the chair

New Talent
Tasha started her hairdressing journey in 2020 and has loved every minute since. She’s best known for her beautiful blowdries and has a real passion for creating stunning hair-ups. Tasha always takes pride in making sure her clients leave the salon feeling confident and happy with their hair.
Katelyn
Apprentice
Katelyn is in the final year of her apprenticeship and has grown into a confident, talented stylist we’re incredibly proud of. Watching her journey has been amazing, and she continues to develop her skills every day.
She is now taking bookings for colour services at a discounted rate, making her the perfect choice if you’re looking for beautiful results while supporting an up-and-coming stylist at the same time.

Front of House Coordinator
Beth is our client's first impression as soon as they come into the salon, Beth is very busy with organising and managing day to day jobs within the salon including the advertising and our social platforms.
Beth loves working in a salon/team environment and loves meeting new people. Beth has a passion for making people feel good - both the team and our clients.
Georgia
Creative Designer/Colour Director
Georgia is currently on maternity leave
Our Story
After building a loyal clientele during her time as a mobile hairdresser, she opened her very own salon. At first, it was just Joanna working solo, but with time, she was able to expand her team and grow her client base. In the midst of it all, she welcomed her third child, a little boy.
In 2018, after Joanna was ready to come back to the salon, Nick and Joanna teamed up again to launch their new venture, "The Barber Works". With Nick's extensive experience in the building trade, he designed and constructed the salon upstairs in January 2019.
Unfortunately, like many small businesses, The Barber Works was forced to close its doors during the pandemic. However, Joanna and Nick's unwavering dedication and drive never wavered, and they quickly bounced back when given the green light to reopen. With the support of their amazing team, they wasted no time in propelling the business to new heights.
Now, with the salon thriving, Joanna and Nick decided to expand in the autumn of 2021 by acquiring the neighbouring unit.
With the help of their talented team and Nick's knowledge, the building works commenced, and The Barber Works continues to flourish to this day.
